PROJECT CONTEXT

Community Health System needed a careers experience capable of supporting high-volume recruitment while reflecting the human impact of its healthcare services.

Operating across a network of hospitals and care facilities, Community Health System provides essential healthcare services to the communities it serves. Recruitment plays an important role in maintaining that care, particularly across high-demand clinical positions.

The project focused on creating a digital careers experience that could communicate the organisation’s purpose while helping candidates quickly understand its culture, opportunities and the contribution they could make to patient care.

CHALLENGE & STRATEGY

The challenge was to simplify a complex recruitment journey while creating an experience that remained welcoming, accessible and focused on candidate needs.

The strategy centred on establishing clear pathways into relevant opportunities while providing enough context around culture, values and professional growth to support informed career decisions.

Content hierarchy and simplified navigation were used to reduce unnecessary friction, creating a more direct journey from initial exploration through to role discovery while maintaining the human qualities expected of a healthcare organisation.

ROLE & LEADERSHIP

I led the design direction, aligning client stakeholders and internal teams around a clear, accessible and conversion-focused candidate experience.

As the primary design contact, I guided the project from initial scoping through to delivery, working collaboratively with the client and senior design team to shape page structures, candidate journeys and content priorities.

Close coordination with development and planning ensured the design translated effectively into build, balancing recruitment objectives with accessibility, usability and the need for an approachable experience.

“Where healthcare meets community - designed to connect the right people to the roles that matter most.”

DESIGN & EXPERIENCE

The experience was designed around clarity and purposeful navigation, helping candidates move confidently from employer story to relevant opportunities.

A structured visual hierarchy created clear routes through careers content while ensuring key information remained easy to understand and act upon. Considered use of imagery, typography and content reinforced the organisation’s focus on care, trust and community.

Rather than introducing unnecessary complexity, each interaction was designed with intent — supporting efficient role discovery while giving candidates sufficient context around the organisation and its wider purpose.

IMPACT & OUTCOMES

The resulting platform provides a clearer and more purposeful route into careers across Community Health System.

By combining simplified navigation with structured content and a more human employer story, the experience supports candidates in moving efficiently between understanding the organisation and discovering relevant opportunities.

The result is a scalable careers experience that balances the demands of high-volume recruitment with the need to communicate care, trust and community — creating a stronger foundation for candidate engagement and action.
